The Low Emissions Mercedes SLS AMG

The manufacturer has designed the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG electric drive, it runs off of four electric motors and generates zero emissions. The liquid-cooled high-voltage lithium-ion battery  and is charged through braking.
0 – 62 miles per hour in about 4.0 seconds, which puts it in the same bracket as the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG with a 6.3-litre V8 engine.
The handling of the vehicle is also boosted by a number of design features, such as four motors and two transmissions being positioned low in the vehicle near the wheels. This helps to give the vehicle a low centre of gravity and an equal weight distribution.

Special Edition SLK

Mercedes have announced the release of a special edition Mercedes SLK called the SLK 2Look. In essence this comes with standard paint finishes in black and calcite white and striking 18 inch 5 spoke alloys in either titanium silver or chrome shadow finishes. The black and white theme continues inside the car with black and white trim and floor mats. The 2Look has enhanced specification as standard including heated seats, airscarf and transparent wind deflector.

The 2010 Model Year SLK see the SLK 300 replace the 280 with a number of specification changes, new colours  and new options along with an automatic gearbox to aid fuel efficiency.

Mercedes Benz Carriage – 2009 Model Year

As you can see from the picture below this is a somewhat bizarre, vaguely ridiculous, certainly interesting yet strangely wonderful Mercedes Benz concept car. The brain child of 150 trainee’s the concept car combines traditional design with modern technology. So whilst the wheels look like a 1900′s carriage the car is powered with a hybrid drive system which uses an emission free fuel cell and a fly-by-wire joy stick control instead of a steering wheel.

Daimler AG students have worked on the concept, development, assembly, and completion of the F-CELL Roadster for a year. The project was created to train the junior employees in alternative drive systems.

Here Comes the new Mercedes E Class

Following the success of the new Mercedes C Class, MBUK has decided to follow this up with the new E Class which arrives in June. They have now simplified the range with a harder ride on the Sport Model as well as the new Blue Efficiency badged range too.

The big news though is the price drop on the car it replaces. This is excellent news not only from a buyers point of view but from a company car tax point of view. CO2 has also dropped by 11% across the range which again lowers company car tax contributions.

The specification is of a high standard with even entry level cars including bluetooth, front and rear parking sensors, climate control and artico leather all being standard. All models also include Attention Assist which monitors drivers behaviour and sounds an alarm if it believes the driver is danger of nodding off.

With a top speed on the 2.2 diesel models of 141mph and 0-62 in 9.1s and an combined mpg of 47.1, the E Class is coming closer to it’s Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series counterparts and now the price is also in line too.

The ride is unmistakably Mercedes, quiet, smooth and comfortable. The look is now more up to date and appealing on all levels with sharp lines and sleek styling. A real little gem for the first time in a long time.

New Mercedes CLK Spy Shot
