Audi S5 Cabriolet available for order

Audi have released the new S5 Cabriolet just in time for a hopeful Indian summer, the flagship of the A5 range is powered by the S4’s V8 engine as well as the S-tronic twin clutch sports transmission which helps provide 224g/km of CO2 and 29.1 miles per galloon. 0-62 in just 5,6 seconds with a limited top speed of 115 miles per hour.

audi-s5-cabriolet-03-08-09 Every bit A5 and every bit S Quattro range too the Audi A5 Cabriolet range  will of course also feature the most sophisticated version of the lightweight soft-top – the acoustic hood – which with additional insulating layers reduces external noise intrusion into the cabin to virtually the same level as the fixed head Coupe. The soft-top retracts in 15 seconds and raises again in only 17 seconds, and can complete both operations at speeds of up to 31mph.

The Audi S5 Cabriolet makes light work of transports easily four adults in comfort, and when the soft top is in place, a best-in-class luggage capacity of 380 litres also enables accommodation of luggage for four. In topless mode the roof stowage compartment only marginally reduces this impressive total to 320 litres.

Audi S5 Ditches V8 In Favour Of Supercharged V6

Audi_S5

In news that will surprise almost nobody, Audi has announced that it will be swapping the S5’s 4.2L V8 engine in favour of a lighter, almost as powerful, and much more fuel-efficient supercharged V6. Just as it did with the S4 range. The charged six will pump out 245kWs and a healthy 440Nms, meaning that only the power figure has dropped – down 15kWs – so Audi fans needn’t worry about performance.

It’s unlikely that the 4.2L V8 will disappear from Audi specifications lists just yet, as there’s every chance a twin-turbo version could see duty in new iterations of the S6 and S8. Both of which are currently powered by a de-tuned version of Lamborghini’s 5.0L V10 and could benefit from the improved handling and fuel efficiency the V8 could potentially provide. [more]

While we’re on the topic of Audi engine shuffling, lets not forget there’s an Audi R8 V10 on the way and that Audi has all but confirmed ‘the coming’ of an R4 sibling. Expect the R4 to be powered by the same supercharged V6 seen throughout the Audi range, while the base R8 will likely continue with the 4.2L V8 for now.

If all that is enough to make your head spin then try not to think too hard about the fact that Audi is also said to be working on its range of ‘RS’ cars which should be lighter and more powerful again.

The days of making more power by merely increasing displacement alone are long gone. Sure, some may lament the trend to engine-downsizing, but rest assured that turbo and supercharger technology will continue to ensure there’s plenty to get excited about.

Audi RS7 – The Future of German Car Making

How many years have we been waiting for the Audi RS7 to come out? Audi has been around for over a hundred years now. We have seen many different versions of the Audi. From the Audi A5 to the Audi S5 and it seems that each one of the Audis that came out on the market is one of the best. This is because Audi is one of the top of the line car manufactures out there. audi_s7_2With the Audi RS7, you will be getting a load of power, which is what many people look for when they are looking at a car. When we talk about power, we really do mean power as there is going to be six hundred horsepower in this car. If you have gotten to experience how much two hundred and fifty horsepower feels, then it is still going to be hard for you to imagine how six hundred horsepower feels. We will tell you one thing, when you push that pedal down; you can expect to be thrown back into your seat for a couple of seconds as your car roars off.
The engine of the Audi RS7 will be pouring like a kitten as it is said that the engine will be a V10. It is also going to be all wheel drive, which means you will be able to take the car almost anywhere, without having to worry about slipping and sliding. This means you can take the car out when the rain is pouring down and you will not loose control. There is no denying that Audi is one of the safest cars out there. Audi really does focus on your safety.
We are not sure what the Audi RS7 is going to look at on the inside, but we are sure it is going to be filled with top of the line stuff, such as leather and aluminum. If you have ever seen inside the other Audis, then chances are you have been swept off of your feet at how smooth they look. Speaking in smooth, the Audi RS7 is going to be a ride that truly is smooth. Sure, you will be able to hear how the engine roars, which will make your heart nearly, skip a beat, but you will not be able to feel any of the bumps as you are driving.

Audi – Prestige but without the Financial Burden

Audi continues to go from strength to strength. The cars better and the range continue to grow. Mondeo man wants to upgrade and BMW and Mercedes drivers alike have turned coat and opted for the “other” German marque.

Audi is no budget car range but the one place it really is trying to save you money is on your fuel and tax bills. Take the Audi A4, the 2.0 TDI engine gives over 54 miles to the gallon combined with a Co2 Emission of circa 134g/km.

This is all combined with stunning performance from a 143ps engine. How many cars can your truly say offer performance, economy, green thinking as well as a prestige badge. Not many!!

Audi also is subject to some of the strongest residual values in the market place. Which means with the average Audi being worth 10-20% more after three years. Owners enjoy strong change over figures and those who lease exceptional rates.

As an example based on a 3 Year 10000 miles per annum contract hire, The average BMW 3 Series driver will pay £350 plus VAT per month an A4 driver could pay £285 plus VAT. The average BMW 1 series driver would pay £275.00 plus VAT per month and the A3 driver would pay £210.00.

Lease or buy an Audi?
